There are about a million review websites on the internet these days. We have Google, Yelp!, Houzz, Angie’s List, and many, many  others. This flood of information can make it extremely hard to get an accurate pictures of a company and know which one to choose for your siding project.

Unfortunately, not every online review is from a reliable source. Additionally, not every company has reviews posted regarding the work it has done. We are here to give you tools so you can check out reviews and know what you are getting into when hiring a new company for siding, landscaping, remodeling, or any other type of work here in San Mateo.

Get Personal

The best review you can get is one from someone you actually know. Get recommendations from friends, family, and neighbors.

See the Sights

When you can visually see that a company has done a great job, that’s a review in itself. You can do this in a few ways:

  1. Look at the company website, Facebook page, Houzz and other sources to see pictures of their completed work.
  2. Ask the company if they have any clients whose homes you can view to see their work.
  3. See if any users of various websites like Google, Yelp, or Houzz have posted pictures of that company’s completed work.

Just the Facts

Check the company out with the Better Business Bureau. In some cases (like with Peninsula Siding) you will need to look under their parent company (in our case, S.E.A. Construction Inc). Click over the customer complaints. If the profile says 0 complaints - that’s always a good sign.

You can also check on any accreditations, endorsements, certifications, or memberships listed on the company website. Many membership organizations in the construction world require that a company follow a very specific code of conduct, stay up to date with continuing education, and more to qualify for membership.

Finally, you are the best judge of who will be right for you. See if you can get an estimate from the company you are considering. Discussing your issue over the phone, meeting face to face, or even talking over email will give you a sense of the company’s level of professionalism and care.

The best construction, remodeling, or siding company for you is the one which makes you feel comfortable, gives you options, and does the work as written in your contract.

Contact us today and tell us about your project. We would appreciate the opportunity to work with you.

We really do love hearing from you. Leave us a comment at the bottom of this post. We'll be so thrilled that we'll even answer.
