Artisan Siding

Siding is considered “on trend” right now in the building world. There are several reasons for this.

  1. Siding comes in a huge variety of colors.

  2. It is often used as a “green” upgrade to a home.

  3. We can obtain many different siding materials, which give a home a completely different look than other siding materials.

  4. We can match cheaper, longer lasting, or green materials with siding that might harm the environment or create a big dent in your wallet.

  5. A report from Industry Edge magazine says that siding replacement has a solid return on investment - allowing homeowners to recoup more than 70% of replacement costs at resale.

All of these factors mean that choosing siding for your home can only modernize the structure. Also, adding siding doesn’t mean you’ll be blending in with your neighbors, because there is such a wide variety of materials and colors to choose from.

While we never recommend going with a design or building trend just because it looks nice right now, the environmentally friendly outlook in building appears to be here to stay. That’s where siding comes in. Fiber cement, engineered wood, synthetic stone, and natural wood are all great insulators and each have a relatively small carbon footprint.

“Trendy” Siding Choices

The trendiest of choices tends to hang around the intersection of what is affordable, durable, and green. This most commonly narrows down to:

  • Fiber cement

  • Stone or synthetic stone

  • Brick

Traditionally, brick and stone are the great insulators, which makes them very energy efficient. However, these siding materials are more commonly used to accent a modern structure instead of taking up the entirety of a home.

Fiber cement is our main choice because of its durability and small carbon footprint. This siding type comes with a longer lasting warranty and has a cleaner appearance than vinyl.

Why Siding Adds Beauty to a Structure

There are two choices when it comes to adding siding to your home.

1st: Add siding to the entirety of your home, creating a completely different appearance.

2nd: Install siding as an accent piece to your home.

Both are great ideas and both can add value and beauty to your home. While we can explain why this is all day long, a picture is worth a thousand words. So, here are some comparison pictures in which you will see how siding changes the look and feel of a home.
