Classic American HouseRemodeling Before Re-Siding?

If residing your home is just part of a larger plan, you may be curious which house plans were the most popular in 2011. In a recent article by Builder Magazine Top 10 Best-Selling House Plans of 2011 they took a look at which plans from Builder House Plans won this year’s popularity contest.

  "... The classic look predominates..."

Apparently, these top performers have a lot in common. Here is a short list of those similarities:

1.  Small and modest sized homes are in Vogue favoring under 3000 square feet.

2.  The classic looks had strong preference.

3. On the exterior a mix of siding materials predominates, archiving depth, definition and texture i.e. stone and horizontal lap-siding.

4. The plans emphasis outdoor living spaces, making greater use of screened porches, lanais and barbecue patios.

5. Single story plans seem also to be a criteria allowing for better planing for the future as we age or take in aging parents.
